Manufacturing Engineer

Develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities:
A manufacturing engineer does a wide variety of things from maintaining equipment to directing technicians when needed. Some of their responsibilities include developing manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, assuring product and process quality by designing testing methods, and maintaining product and process data base by writing computer programs. Manufacturing engineers also must practice data analysis and write reports on their findings.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in engineering may be enough to gain entry-level employment as a manufacturing engineer. However, a graduate degree (mainly Masters) is essential for engineers who would like to teach, conduct research, or obtain high-level, managerial positions. BACK
