Laser Technician

Laser Technicians perform highly specialized, skilled technical tasks during every step of the manufacture, assembly, integration, and alignment of optical components into an optical system, and they help conduct field tests and characterizations of an optical system

Responsibilities:

Align optical elements into optical systems. Perform manufacturing operations in a clean environment such as assembly, inspection, and machine operations. Clean and handle precision optics and fiber optics. Build, terminate, and splice fiber optic cables. Use mechanical measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers, and gauge blocks. Possess manual dexterity to complete fine motor tasks with excellent hand-eye coordination.

Requirements:

Two-year Associate's of Science degree in laser technology. It helps to have a certification or emphasis on electronics, robotics, and/or software. BACK
